Plastic is becoming a slow poison for humans - A report....

Plastic is now becoming a slow poison to human life as well as other animals and plants in the environment. Chemicals present in plastic children's toys, shampoos, and food containers are at risk of about 1.0 lakh premature deaths every year, most of them elderly. American scientists have already alerted the people. Chemicals in children's toys, shampoos, and plastic food containers can kill more than lakhs of people every year.

Scientists believe that the chemical ‘phthalates’ present in plastics may become a great cause of premature elderly death of the people of age 55 to 65 years in future every year. Over the past decade, a direct link between phthalates and impotence and obesity in humans has been found. In view of this, its use has been reduced in some countries.

According to researcher Dr. Leonardo Tresand Phthalates is a chemical that extends the life of plastics. Humans use many such products for a long time, such as flooring, plastic packaging, and garden equipment. This increases the risk of death.

To understand the severity of phthalates chemical in the human body, research had been done in many steps. Researchers from NYU Langone Health in the US conducted research between 2001 and 2010. The research involved 5,303 adults aged 55 to 64 years. To know the amount of phthalates chemical in the body of these people, their urine sample was taken and tested. The connection between the report's results and death threats was understood.

A report published in the journal Environment Pollution found that people with higher levels of phthalates were at a higher risk of death.

How plastic threatens human life- Researchers say, plastic items containing phthalates increase the risk when their particles reach the body through food, drink, or inhalation. Children spend more time with toys made of such plastic, touching and putting them in their mouth, which increases the risk.
After reaching the body, this chemical breaks down and comes out through urine. It is detected by urine sample. Most of this chemical is found in women. Experts believe the reason for this is women's use of cosmetic products more. Increasing its quantity in the body worsens health and increases the risk of death.
