Omicron never taken lightly as it affect on person who had already fully vaccinated….

It has been come to know that the South African President Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa became corona positive on Sunday, however, he had taken both doses of the vaccine. The President's Office informed that he is undergoing treatment for mild symptoms. He will remain in self-isolation till he recovers. Until then, the responsibility of the President will be carried out by Vice President Mr. David Mabuza. Mr. Ramaphosa's felt sick after returning from an event in Cape Town, after which he has been kept under the supervision of doctors. Last month, the Omicron variant was first detected in South Africa. The whole world was shocked after the news of this variant being more contagious.

Considering its seriousness, the UK raises virus alert levels as the Omicron cases are increasing in Britain, due to which the alert level of Corona has been increased from 3 to 4. This information has been given by the British Chief Medical Officers. In their statement, officials said the exposure of the Omicron variant poses a greater threat to the public and healthcare services. According to medical officials, preliminary results suggest that Omicron is spreading more rapidly than Delta and that the vaccine is unable to stop it. In such a situation, people should wear masks, get regular corona tests done, and stay in isolation if they show symptoms.

The World Health Organization had also stated on Sunday that Omicron is more contagious than the delta variant of the coronavirus, and spreads rapidly. It also reduces the effectiveness of the vaccine. However, according to the initial data, its symptoms are not much visible to the patient. The delta variant of the corona is responsible for the new variant of the corona that has surfaced around the world. The WHO said that as of December 9, Omicron had spread to 63 countries.

In India, 38 cases of Omicron have been reported.  On Sunday, 5 new cases were found in 5 states. The first case of Omicron was reported in Kochi, Kerala. Kerala Health Minister Veena George told that the infected person had returned to Kochi from the UK on 6 December. He was found positive in the Covid test conducted on 8 December. At the same time, the report of his wife and mother has come positive. All have been shifted to the isolation ward. Passengers sitting near the infected person in the plane have also been informed about this. At the same time, today the first case of Omicron has been confirmed in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and the third case in Karnataka. New Omicron infections have also been identified in Chandigarh and Andhra Pradesh.

When it has been seen that the Omicron variant is spreading rapidly than the earlier detected variants of Covid-19 but there is a piece of relaxing news also creating hope in our mind that the new variant is unable to attack those persons who have taken precautionary measures such as wearing a proper mask, sanitizing their hands regularly and washing hand with soap at least 20 seconds on the regular interval of every 2 hours. The maintaining social distancing also works as a boon in the coming variant, so, please follow the protocol which was given for coronaviruses earlier until new medicines or vaccines or new protocol is announced.

World Health Organization (WHO) has approved the first malaria vaccine RTS, S/AS01 in the world. It will start from African countries most affected by malaria. After this, the focus of WHO will be on funding arrangements to make malaria vaccine worldwide, so that this vaccine can reach every needy country.

After this, the governments of the respective countries will decide whether they include the vaccine in the measures to control malaria. The WHO has said that this vaccine has brought great hope for the countries, that are most affected by malaria.

More than 3 lakh cases of malaria in India every year: Children under the age of 5 are at the highest risk of malaria. Every two minutes a child dies of malaria. In 2019, there were 4.09 lakh deaths approx. due to malaria worldwide, of which about 67% were children, whose age was less than 5 years. In the year, 2015, India had the highest 384 deaths due to malaria. Since then the death toll has steadily decreased and there were more than 3 lakh 38 thousand cases of malaria in India in 2019 but about 50 people only died.

Vaccine trials completed in African countries: The malaria vaccine RTS, S/AS01 was used in 2019 as a pilot program in Ghana, Kenya, and Malawi. Under this, 23 lakh children were given the vaccine, based on its results, the WHO has now approved the vaccine. This vaccine was first made in 1987 by the GSK company.

Severe cases will be 30% less: According to the results of the pilot project, the malaria vaccine is safe and can prevent 30% of severe cases. Of the children given this vaccine, two-thirds were those who did not have mosquito nets. It has also been revealed that the malaria vaccine does not have any negative effect on other vaccines or other measures to prevent malaria. The WHO recommends giving children in sub-Saharan African countries 4 doses of malaria vaccine by the age of two. This vaccine neutralizes Plasmodium falciparum. Plasmodium falciparum is one of the five parasites that cause malaria and is the most dangerous.

According to the WHO, 4 out of every 10 malaria cases can be prevented by the vaccine, and 3 out of 10 people can be saved in severe cases. According to the WHO, malaria causes 4.10 lakh deaths worldwide every year, most of them children from African countries. Half of all malaria deaths worldwide occur in six sub-Saharan African countries. A quarter of these cases are from Nigeria. These are the major symptoms of malaria • Chills       • high fever  • Headache   • Sore Throat  • sweat  • Tiredness  • Restlessness • Vomiting • Anemia• Muscle pain   • Bloody diarrhea etc.
