Cumin (Jeera – Cuminum
cyminum; Family- Apiaceae) is used in every household, but you might not
know that cumin is not only used for tempering food, but small cumin is full of
many medicinal properties. But I am not going to discuss the common cumin as
said above, but it is black cumin (Bunium persicum or Kala Jeera or Caraway comes from the family Apiaceae) which
is slightly different and bitter in taste from the common cumin used in most households.
Let us know how and why black cumin is beneficial for your health and what medicinal properties are they full of -
1. Effective in reducing weight - If black cumin is consumed continuously for 3 months, then it helps in reducing unnecessary fat stored in the body. Black cumin dissolves the fat and removes it from the body through waste materials (feces and urine).
2. Remove immune disorder - Its regular consumption improves immunity, it helps bone marrow, natural interferon, and immune cells to increase the body's immunity. Along with this, its consumption transmits energy in the body, so that fatigue and weakness are not felt soon.
3. Get rid of stomach trouble - Black cumin has antimicrobial properties, due to which it is beneficial in many stomach-related problems, such as digestive disturbances, gastric, flatulence, colic, diarrhea, worms in the stomach, etc. After eating slowly digested food, eating a little black cumin give immediate benefits.
4. Beneficial in cold, cough - Black cumin also acts as an inhaler for cold and cold, phlegm-clogged nose. Apart from the above medicinal properties there are many therapeutic and medicinal benefits are observed from black cumin but we can say consuming is very good for health with health cautiousness.
Cautions :
a. Black cumin is hot in effect, due to which it should not be consumed more than 2-3 grams in a day.
b. Those who feel excessive heat or who are patients of high blood pressure, pregnant women, in the case of small children, consume it only after consulting a doctor.
